Francoise Mouly receives the French Legion Medal of Honour!

Last night we had the great pleasure to witness New Yorker covers editor Francoise Mouly receiving France’s highest honour, The Legion Medal of Honour. Congratulations Francoise! So well deserved.

The Brothers Quay

There is an extraordinary show on at the MOMA of the work of the Brothers Quay. They are illustrators/artists/avant garde filmmakers from the US who graduated from the Royal College of Art in London just prior to when I lived in the UK. They, along with other RCA graduates Sue Coe, Russell Mills, George Snow and Ian Pollock were HUGE influences when I was a young artist.

I’ve just seen the astonishing work of this young artist at the Claire Oliver gallery in New York. Her sculptures are extraordinary depictions of anthropomorphic animals. Stunning!
