I love the Museum of Modern Art. I could spend days there. I loved the current Cindy Sherman show. I think it’s great that she’s printed her works huge, so that they’re such powerful statements. I can relate to the subject of how women are perceived in the culture, and also how women try and postpone the aging process.
Also at the MoMA, a favourite painting by George Grosz….but why is it right by the bathroom? Brutal.

Elegy: Deborah Samuel
This is what I’ve always loved…the intersection of science and art.
Canadian photo-based artist Deborah Samuel’s poetic images illustrate life’s fragility, transience and persistence through the rigid bones and shells of creatures long after flesh and spirit have moved on. The exhibition features 33 photographs, ten of which are of Royal Ontario Museum specimens.
Co-presented by the ROM’s Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity and the Institute for Contemporary Culture.
Here’s a photo taken at the opening…Deborah and I are in the middle, surrounded by friends.
