Yesterday was one of the best days of my life. I received the highest civilian Canadian honour from Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada, who is Queen Elizabeth II’s representative. It was held in Rideau Hall in Ottawa, Canada’s capital city.
The ceremony itself was warm and wonderful. I was particularly happy to receive the honour from Mme. Jean who is an incredible inspiration to all Canadians, women in particular.
And I’ve made a vow to finally learn French fluently so that I can represent my country properly!

Congratulations, Anita! I wish I’d known about your Order of Canada so I could have been amongst the adoring crowds cheering outside as you left Rideau Hall! As a graduate of OCA (1984) I’ve always been proud to say “I went to the same school as Anita Kunz.” Congratulations on a (so far) amazing career!

Hi Anita,
Congratulations again and it was so nice to meet you at the invsestiture.
Like you, I am English speaking only, but I have some knowledge of the French Language because my husband is French. I certainly have NO excuse for not learning this beautiful language and need to work on it.
I am so happy to have received the Order Of Canada as well, and it has allowed me to meet many wonderful people that I would most likely never have had the chance to meet, someone like yourself who is such an incredible inspiration to all Canadians.
Bravo Anita, and hope we meet again.

Carroll, it was so wonderful to meet you!
Congratulations to you and I do hope our paths cross again sometime soon. Then maybe we’ll be able to communicate in French???
All the very best

Hey Anita,
That is very cool. Nothing like being recognized for your accomplishments and years of unselfishly sharing your craft. I can’t think of anyone more deserving… other than Barron Storey and Alex Bostic… and they are the only academians I know! Congrats!
